SERVICE
According to the Tenure and Academic Rank Guidelines, the faculty professional portfolio should be presented and assessed holistically. I have attempted to demonstrate, for example, how good teaching informs professional activity and vice versa. Here, in this section on service, I wish to emphasize the connections between all three areas of professional responsibility. I have come to recognize service as one of the most rewarding aspects of my career so far at the College and I can clearly see how service offers insights into how faculty shape larger issues that affect the everyday aspects of College life, including teaching. The first subsection deals primarily with committee work both at the department and college level. The second subsection relates to my work on Faculty Senate and Faculty Senate Leadership; I believe my time as a Faculty Senator represents the most significant and substantial aspect of my service to the College. Finally, I have included a separate subsection which deals specifically with a Human Resources project I was asked to assist with and was connected to my service on Faculty Leadership.
